Families

Notre Dame and RecSports recognize the importance of family recreation. Family hours are provided at Rockne Memorial and the North Dome so parents and children can recreate together. We ask that parents supervise their children during these hours. Children under 18 are not permitted to use fitness equipment located throughout the facilities. Child friendly equipment is available. Essentially, families only have use of the facilities during designated Family Hours.

As of January 1, 2000, all guests and minor children will be required to have a Waiver, Release and Indemnification Agreement on file at either Rockne Memorial or at the North Dome. The waivers will be kept on file for one year (September 1 - August 30), so guests and minors will only need to sign one waiver each year.

The following is the procedure for administering the waivers:

  1. Each guest must completely fill out the waiver at the Front Desk of either Rockne Memorial or the North Dome. Minors must have their parents complete the form. Only parents or legal guardians are allowed to sign the forms.
  2. All completed forms will then be filed for one year at Rockne Memorial or the North Dome and will be added to our Guest & Minor database.
  3. When a guest or minor returns to the facility, they will not need to complete another waiver if their name appears on the list, or the original waiver is on file. If the guest or minor claims they have already filled one out, but no record is found, they must then fill out another waiver to be allowed to use the facility.
