About Justine
Justine joined the RecSports family in August of 2015 as the Special Events & Family Programming Intern. Originally from Michigan, Justine is joining us from Mid Michigan Community College, where she earned her Associates degree in Business Administration and Central Michigan University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Commercial Recreation and Event Management.
During her time at Central Michigan University, Justine has helped plan multiple events such as Sixty Second Showdown and Mount Pleasant Gus Macker. The Mount Pleasant Gus Macker is an event planned Central Michigan students in a semester-long class. This is the only class of its kind in the nation.
Justine's passion for campus recreation and higher education started after she transferred from Mid Michigan Community College to Central Michigan University, where she started working college sporting events and fell in love with the atmosphere. Through her two years at Central Michigan University, Justine held five different positions including that of Event Staff, Student Tech, Building Supervisor, Student Manager, and Program Coordinator of Facility Operations. She was also a member of the Student Enrichment Council, which is a committee consisting of employee groups who work to improve their respective departmental area and discuss solutions, in addition to planning a philanthropy event annually.
