The Men’s Club Soccer team tied the Western Michigan Broncos 1-1 in Kalamazoo this weekend in their first competition since resurrecting the club.

The Irish dominated the Broncos for the entire game creating many opportunities in front of goal, but were unable to finish.  The lone goal was scored by Ricardo Romero on a dazzling free kick midway through the first half.

The Broncos began threatening late in the second half and eventually won a free kick with four minutes left to play.  On the ensuing play, the ball was crossed in, and after a scramble in the box, the ball was put away to tie the game.  The Irish had one more chance to score on a corner in the closing minutes but failed to capitalize.
