Out on the sand volleyball courts by Riehle Fields, Game of the Week featured the championship match between Green Wave and We Always Got It. Both teams were veteran teams, but looking for the first sand volleyball title.
Action began right away, and there was no shortage of fantastic plays by both sides.
The teams were evenly matched at first, trading points back and forth. We Always Got It started to pick up momentum in the first game when they took a mere 4 point lead, but Green Wave battled all the way back to tie the game at 20-20. However, We Always Got It was able to settle down and score 2 quick points to win the first game.
The second game was equally as exciting and evenly matched. Neither team had more than a 3 point lead during the game. The lead changed multiple times during the game, but it was We Always Got It who secured the victory and the championship title with a 21-19 victory.
Although Green Wave was disappointed in their loss, both teams were elated to learn of the perks of Game of the Week, including the coupon for a free appetizer, courtesy of O'Rourke's Public House.
