Parent and Infant Aquatic Education

Pot of Goldfish 1 is a parent-infant aquatic education class designed for ages 6 months to 3 years. In this class parents gain a better understanding of child aquatic safety. Infants focus on water exploration, appropriate water entry, breath control and bubble blowing, boyancy and flotation activities, and movement in water towards a target.

 

Pre-School Aquatic Education

Golden Guppy 1 is a bridge class between parent-infant aquatic education and pre-school aged aquatic education. Parents actively participate in the class to help their child gain more confidence. The class focuses on exploring water, socialization, building confidence in front and back floats, and strong kicking on front and back.

Golden Guppy 2 is the first independent level of pre-school aged aquatic education class. In this level, children will learn to fully submerge and blow bubbles, demonstrate sage entry techniques, float independently on front and back with recovery, independently perform glides and swim with correct arm recovery and streamlined body position

Golden Guppy 1 is a bridge class between parent-infant aquatic education and pre-school aged aquatic education. Parents actively participate in the class to help their child gain more confidence. The class focuses on exploring water, socialization, building confidence in front and back floats, and strong kicking on front and back.

 

School Aged Aquatic Education

After completing the Blue Barracuda class the child will be able to answer questions on water safety and personal survival, enter water safely and confidently, recover from an unaided face down float to a stable standing position, and demonstrate confident kicking and float skills.

Swimmers in the Leprechaun Lionfish level will be able to answer questions on water safety and personal survival, demonstrate a slide-in entry, swim 10 yards backstroke and freestyle, float and tread water for 30 seconds. Swimmers will also be taught many safety and survival techniques.

Domer Dragonfish will be able to answer questions on water safety and personal survival, swim 25 yards backstroke and freestyle, demonstrate correct technique for survival backstroke, as well as tread water and skull.

Upon completion of the Irish Dolphin level swimmers will be able to answer questions on water safety and personal survival, complete a compact jump, continuously swim 25 yards backstroke and 25 yards freestyle, demonstrate the survival backstroke, and demonstrate breaststroke.

Fighting Fish will be able to answer questions on water safety and personal survival, continuously swim 150 yards, demonstrate correct survival backstroke, sidestroke, and breaststroke. In this level, swimmers will also gain a more advanced understanding of safety and survival techniques.

 

rockne_ray

Upon successful completion of the Rockne Ray level swimmers will be able to swim 250 yards continuously using backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke, survival backstroke, and sidestroke.

 

shamrock_shark

Shamrock Shark, the highest level of our learn-to-swim program, will give swimmers the skills needed to swim 500 continuous yards, as well as develop the butterfly stroke.
