2007-2008 Club Sports
The following is a list of the Club Sports teams recognized by
RecSports for the 2006-2007 Academic Year.
Bowling
The club travels all over the Midwest, and to Las Vegas, competing
in 13 intercollegiate tournaments. The club also hosts the Blue-Gold
Classic, boasting on of the strongest intercollegiate fields nationally,
at its home lanes, nearby Beacon Bowl. Bowlers of all skill levels
are encouraged to join this coed club. For more information about

Climbing
From the campus climbing wall to day trips to Michigan, to the
cliffs at Red River Gorge, KY, the club is active year-round.
Members also instruct students at the Rockne Memorial. All are
welcome.
Cycling
Members of the Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference, the club
offers cyclists the opportunity for both recreational riding and
competitive racing. Members participate in mountain biking in
the fall, group training in the winter, and road biking in the

Equestrian
Consistently one of the top teams in Region 2, the equestrians
again garnered many high-point and reserve high-points honors
this year. Using a local stable and coach, the club offers lessons
and schooling weekly to riders of all levels, including novice.
Undergraduates are eligible to compete in any of 10 regular season
shows as members of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association.

Field Hockey
The team competes in the fall and spring against top club teams
in the Midwest and several varsity teams, as well in tournaments
at Ball State and Northwestern. An annual spring event is the
Irish Classic. Players of all skill level are welcome. For more

Figure Skating
An increasingly popular club, the skaters participate in the Midwestern
Synchronized Team Championships, and in the Nationals as well
as other competitions. No experience is necessary. For more information

Fly Fishing
This club brings together students who share a passion for fishing
of all sorts. Members can learn fundamentals or polish their technique
and style. The club offers instruction at all levels of the sport,
and club fishing excursions.
Gymnastics
The club provides a relaxed atmosphere in which experienced and
novice gymnasts train and learn. The team practices year-round,
competes in the spring throughout the Midwest, and annually hosts
the Clover Classic, one of the year's preeminent club meets. Both the men's and women's squads have won NAIGC national championships and consistently place among the best teams in the country.
Martial Arts Institute
The Notre Dame Martial Arts Institute takes the best of the martial
arts world - defense, discipline, and enjoyment - and offers it
to students from all backgrounds and ability levels. Nearly every
member advances each year. The club is non-competitive and welcomes

Men's Boxing
More than 150 boxers participate annually in the Bengal Bouts, raising money for the Holy Cross Missions in Bangladesh. In the fall, novice
training offers coaching and conditioning for the first-time boxer.
In January, all members begin a six-week conditioning and practice
regimen that culminates with the Bengal Bouts. Members compete
only with other members, as outside competition is not permitted.

Men's Rowing
Both experienced and novice rowers have the opportunity to represent
Notre Dame at regattas. Rowing competes in both the fall and spring,
with dry land conditions in the winter. Annual competition includes
the Head of the Charles in Boston, the Southern Intercollegiate
Rowing Association's in Oak Ridge, TN, and ECAC championships.

Men's Volleyball
Tryouts are conducted in the early fall, followed by three-hour
practices three times weekly, in preparation for spring play in
the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. The club consistently
finishes in the top 30 nationally among the 180 National Intramural
Recreation Sports Association member schools. For more information

Men's Water Polo
The club now competes in the Great Lakes League, and is traditionally
one of the stronger clubs in the Midwest. The club has qualified
for the national championships on several occasions in recent
years. Students of all experience levels are welcome to play.

Pom Pon Squad
The mission of the Pom Squad is to increase Notre Dame spirit
at athletic, campus, and community events. The squad performs
at football pep rallies and game day sites, men's and women's
basketball games, and campus activities such as Bookstore Basketball,
ROTC Kids Field Day, O'Neill Mardi Gras, and the International

Rugby
Sailing
This is a coed club that competes in single-sex and coed regattas.
Practice is held on Notre Dame's St. Joseph's Lake, site of the
annual Icebreaker Regatta, and nearby Diamond Lake. Lessons are
offered for first time sailors. A member of the Midwest Collegiate
Sailing Association, the club typically competes in either the
Flying Junior Class or 420's. The club is traditionally among
the strongest in the Midwest. Students from beginner to advanced

Ski
A member of the Midwest Collegiate Ski Association, the club competes in men's and women's slalom and giant slalom events, as well as team snowboard events. Dry land training begins in
the fall, with time trials held late in the semester. The club
competes in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Canada.
Squash
Players of all skill levels from novice to advanced are welcome. Members may learn and play recreationally, or may choose to play competitively on the ladder and in team play with other schools' club programs. Ultimate
Ultimate combines the strategy of football, and the field sense
of soccer, and the positioning of basketball. The Ultimate community
encourages good sportmanship and healthy competition. No Frisbee
skills or experience is needed, as the team welcomes novices to
the game. The club is recognized as one of the stronger in the
region, in both men's and women's play. For more information about

Women's Boxing
This year, more than 60 women challenged themselves physically
and mentally as they learned the skills and found the will, strength,
and heart to become boxers. Along the way, they also developed
leadership skills as club officers, raised funds for the Missions in East Africa by staging the Baraka Bouts. A novice program is conducted in the early fall, followed by veteran
season prior to the Baraka Boust.. All are welcome.
Women's Ice Hockey
The Women's Hockey team combines a relaxed atmosphere with a competitive spirit
as it competes throughout the winter season. The team travels all over the
Midwest, from Chicago to St. Louis, and hosts several games at home. Teamwork
and good sportsmanship have been an essential part of previous seasons. Good
leadership skills are acquired by giving girls from each class a chance to

Women's Running
The Women's Running Club offers women runners of all levels the opportunity to keep up their running in a friendly team-like atmosphere. The club organizes weekly practice runs and participates in numerous road races both on and off campus, including the Domer Run, Holy Half Marathon, Mara Fox Run, and more. http://www.nd.edu/~womenrun/
Women's Water Polo

World Tae Kwon Do Federation Club
Through the study of technique and traditional Korean form, members
acquire discipline, motivation, and self-respect. Every club member
advanced at least one belt, with 11 advancing two or more belts
