For Families

For Families

Family Programming is an integral part of both the RecSports and University experience. With roots tied deeply to Notre Dame’s mission, Family Programming seeks to meet the recreational needs of Notre Dame’s families in order to help them grow stronger physically, mentally and spiritually.

Even Fridays

One of our main family programs, Even Fridays occurs on the second and fourth Friday of every month. These are traditional family recreation opportunities, such as bowling, swimming, game nights, skating, bike rides, among other seasonal activities. All Even Friday events are from 5:30 - 7:30 PM and designed to reach a wide range of family ages, abilities and interests.

Family FIRST

Family FIRST (Fitness Instruction, Recreation, & Sports Training) are 5 or 6-week class series specifically geared for families. Family FIRST is designed with the fitness needs of familes and mind and encourages parents and children to take part in these activities together.

Learn-to-Swim Program

RecSports is proud to serve the Notre Dame community with quality swim lessons in a safe and friendly environment at a wide range of ability levels. In Learn-to-Swim, we offer four categories of swim lessons: Parent and Infant Aquatic Education, Pre-School Aged Aquatic Education, School Aged Aquatic Education and Adult Aquatic Education.

Family Hours

Informal family recreation is intregal to RecSports programming, and ties in with University mission. We encourage all faculty and staff to bring their families to our facilities for relaxing recreational fun. Out fitness rooms, basketball courts, racquetball courts, indoor soccer court and swimming pools are all available for use during family hours. Family hours are available in the Rolfs Sports Recreation Center, the Rolfs Aquatic Center and the Rockne Memorial
