Activity: Campus Indoor Soccer
Rules:
1. Play will consist of 2 twenty-minute halves. 5 minute half time.
2. Teams must have a minimum of 3 players (2 + goalie) to start a game. Maximum of 3 players + goalie is allowed.
3. Each team has 1 timeout per game.
4. Goalie can ONLY handle ball in the goal area. There will be NO punting or drop kicks allowed. The goalie may however put the ball in play with his feet as long as it is not played directly out of the air. Offense may play the ball back to their goalie. (the goalie must play the ball with his/her feet).
5. Goal kick from any place inside the goal area.
6. Penalties by the defense in the goal area will result in a penalty shot on the goalie.
7. All other free kicks are indirect.
8. Substitute on the fly as in hockey.
9. All restarts will be played with a kick-in.
10. No off sides.
11. Balls off the net area above the glass are out and are put into play by a kick-in at the nearest inbound spot.
12. Regular season games may end in a tie. For playoffs a shoot out will occur, teams will alternate penalty kicks (the 4 players who were in the game as time expired). If the score is still tied then a sudden death shoot out will occur with each team taking one shot per round until one team scores and the other fails to score.
Eligibility: This is a campus event open to all students, faculty, and staff. Teams may be made up of any combination of students, faculty, and staff. There are no residency requirements. Every team must submit a roster and the roster is final after the first game begins.
Schedule: Times and days of play must be selected at the time of entry. Finalized schedules will be distributed at the captain’s meeting. Round Robin leagues with post season single elimination tournament. In tournament play you may not play at the same day or time as regular season.
Equipment: Indoor balls may be checked out from the RSRC front desk.
Location: All games will be played in the RSRC rink.
Forfeits/Reschedules: If a team does not have the minimum amount of players at game time, that team will forfeit. No reschedules will be permitted in this sport. If a team cannot make a game, they may call Peter Shoop-Assistant Director of Intramurals 631-4437 at least 24 hours in advance of the game and request a default. A default results in a loss, but is not considered a forfeit.
Insurance Requirement: Each participant must complete an individual insurance form prior to the team's first game in order to compete in this league. Failure to complete the waiver will render that player ineligible and not on the roster. Insurance waivers may also be completed at Rolf’s front desk prior to the team's first game.
A VALID UND INDENTIFICATION CARD IS NEEDED TO PARTICIPATE.
