Baseball Rules

1. 9 players start a game.
2. A team may start with as few as 7 players in order to avoid a forfeit.
3. Games will be played to 6 innings. However, no new inning may start after 80 minutes.  Last game must end by 11:00pm.
4. Free substitution is permitted. However, the batting order must remain constant. No player may bat in more than one position in the batting order.
5. Once removed from the pitching position, a player may not pitch again in that game.
6. Any team up by ten or more runs after 5 innings will be declared the winner.
7. Anyone throwing helmets and bats will be ejected from the game.
8. NCAA rules will be followed except as noted.
9. Metal spikes are ok.
10. Games will not be called due to weather until one hour before game time. Teams will be called if possible. If a game is cancelled due to weather, all games for the night are also cancelled. 
11. You may bat any number of batters on your roster, but only nine will play the field.

ELIGIBILITY:
For interhall baseball, the residency requirement is enforced. GFS teams may only be made up of graduate students, faculty, or staff. Every competing team must complete a roster and pay the entry fee by the deadline noted above. Times and days of play must be selected at the time of entry.

SCHEDULE:
Times and days of play must be selected at the time of entry. Finalized schedules will be distributed at the captain’s meeting.

EQUIPMENT:
All equipment, except gloves, will be available.

LOCATION:
All games except the semifinals and finals will be played at Boehm Park. Go east on Edison to Crestwood-North to Rose-east to the park. All players must provide their own transportation.

FORFEITS/RESCHEDULES:
Because of the city facilities, reschedules will not be possible. If the Intramural Coordinator is contacted at least 24 hours before game time, the game will be considered a default instead of a forfeit. Any team not having the required number of players at the field at scheduled game time will forfeit. NO GRACE PERIOD! Rainouts will be rescheduled if possible.

INSURANCE WAIVERS:
All players must sign an individual contact insurance waiver. Players that have not filled out insurance waivers will not be considered on the roster and will not be legal players.
