February 2018: Meghan Egierski
"From my first day with RecSports, Meghan has been a smiling face, a welcoming staff member, and someone who I feel can be trusted with anything we ask of her. She has been a leader within the Front Desk staff, and a voice of reason when things need to be brought to our attention. She is someone that has a lot of leadership potential and it is beginning to be realized. Meghan is also one of the few that makes sure that all the little things are done, and accounted for. Be it the cash drawer, folding towels, or even just tidying up, Meghan can always can be found doing the most mundane task with a positive attitude, outlook, and spirit. She is the type of employee that supervisors love, and that other staff try to emulate. For these and many more things, Meghan is beginning her training to start as a Facility Manager, and I know she will do great things. For these reasons, I would like to nominate Meghan Egierski for the RecSports February 2018 MOST Outstanding Student Employee of the Month."

In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, and cooking for my family and friends. I especially love to make Italian food, so if you're craving anything loaded with carbs, I'm your girl!

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Upon graduating, I plan to pursue a Masters degree, and eventually a PhD, in Speech Language Pathology. I'd initially like to work with children and infants who have language impairments, then eventually work my way to acquired brain trauma related speech and language disorders.
What are the top 3 reasons you enjoy working at RecSports?
I enjoy working at RecSports primarily for the people. I love being able to build relationships and serve both the patrons and my coworkers and superiors. It's so much easier getting motivated to come into work when I know that I'll be surrounded by people who love what they do, and are interested in bettering themselves and others. It may be biased, but I also think we have some of the most fun, and often comical, supervisors out of all the departments here at Notre Dame. I know that I can always sit down and talk to them when I've had a tough day and I'll leave with a smile on my face. I love getting to know all of the other students who play club sports by watching their games, practices and other competitions.
What’s one thing you would like everyone at RecSports to know about you?
I value relationship-building, so if anyone ever needs a friend or just wants someone to talk to, I'd be happy to listen!
