Notre Dame RecSports is excited to announce that Alex Little is our October winner for RecSports MOST Outstanding Student Employee. Alex is a Sports Programs Supervisor and Program Assistant. He has had an exceptional month demonstrating growth and commitment as a Sports Programs Supervisor and Office Assistant, always aligned with our RecSports core values of diversity, integrity, mentorship, and safety.
For example, Alex actively supports his peers, consistently offering constructive feedback and guidance. He has stepped up as a leader, setting a strong example for his fellow Supervisors, and has been working to build positive working relationships on shift, strengthening the whole team. Additionally, Alex helped input paper versions of Injury Reports into the OnBase system, being proactive in thoroughly asking questions throughout the process to ensure high standards for our risk management processes.
Alex has also gone above and beyond by being incredibly flexible and reliable, working whenever and wherever needed. He frequently filled crucial gaps in the schedule and ensured the Program Assistant role was covered daily, often picking up shifts for peers who were ill or busy. He also demonstrates initiative by suggesting improvements to office processes, such as the Rector Approval Form tracking. Ultimately, Alex champions diversity by ensuring that everyone feels welcome. He’s approachable and relational with participants, which ensures they feel valued. A coworker specifically recognized his patient and transparent approach when he explained the roster addition procedure to an intramural participant.
Thank you, Alex, for all you contribute to Notre Dame RecSports. We are grateful to have you on our team!
