This weekend the Notre Dame Bowling Club competed in its own tournament , the Blue and Gold Classic. To start the tournament, Steven Brill and Chris Hecht led the team, both bowling 184s during game one. During the next few games, the team missed more spares and only scored 787 and 785 total in each game. In the fourth game, Mike Murray posted a strong showing of a 208 and things started looking up for the team as a whole. The fifth game was the team's best game of the tournament. During that game, the team shot a combined 875. Towards the end of the day the lanes got very dry and challenging, so the team only shot 822 in the final game of day one. There were three more games on Sunday. At the start of day two, the Irish were striking well, but struggled to convert spares. During the last three games, the team scored 816, 817, and 860 to end with a total score of 7428. Overall, the team finished in ninth place out of the eleven varsity teams. Mike Murray finished in 20th in the individual standings with a total pin count of 1647 and an average of 183.
