This weekend (September 13-14), members of the ND/SMC Sailing Team hitched up a boat and traveled to Madison, WI to compete in the Fall Fury Intersectional Regatta. The team consisted of Captain Christian Koerwer ('16), Vice Captains Mike Hull ('17) and Skyler Hughes ('16), Commodore Becky Jegier ('15), Vice Commodore Colleen King ('16), Mike Flanigan ('15), Claire Lupo ('15), Adrienne Huschke ('16), Lissa Stachnik ('16), and Patty Morrow ('16). The weather was beautiful both days with sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-60s. Although the wind was shifty on Saturday, resulting in postponed races, it picked up on Sunday so that eight races total were completed by the end of the weekend. The Notre Dame Gold Team - Mike Flanigan (skipper), Skyler (crew), Colleen (crew), Christian (skipper) and Mike Hull (crew) - placed fourth overall! This was a very exciting start to the sailing season. We are sending another team to the Buckeye Invitational this upcoming weekend - best of luck to them as they travel to Ohio State University to race against teams from across the Midwest!
