What are your areas of specialty in personal training?

General free weight and isometric training, body weight control

How do you motivate participants?

Primarily by offering constructive and friendly feedback and by teaching clients some fundamentals about the human body.

What has been your most rewarding moment as a trainer?

To have at the conclusion of a session the client exclaim that this has been a great workout.

What year/month did you first become certified as a Personal Trainer?

December 1999

What types of clients do you normally take on?

Graduate students to elderly

Where else have you worked as a Personal Trainer?

In own Private Studio.

Why did you become a Personal Trainer?

While employed full-time, to train myself. After retiring, to stay active while helping others.

What is your personal go-to workout?

Hiking with family in the Sierras in the summer.

How would you describe your personal training sessions? What type of training do you like to take your clients through?

My sessions are client-oriented, of course, in which I focus on several muscle groups and apply exercises which, taken together, test the full range of motion of the muscles involved.

Eccentric Training, Body Weight Training, Low Back Disorders, Kettle bell Training, Functional Training, Balance Training, Exercise Ball Training.
