This weekend (September 20-21), members of the ND/SMC Sailing Team traveled to Ohio State University to compete in the Buckeye Invitational. The team consisted of John O'Brien ('18) and Grace Curtin ('18) sailing in the A division, and Katie Schneeberger ('17), Meghan Flanigan ('16), and Cecie Costa ('18) sailing in the B division. The weather was beautiful both days with sunny skies and consistent wind, and Notre Dame placed 4th overall out of 15 boats despite sailing different boats (FJs) than the ones that the team normally uses to practice. It was certainly an exciting weekend for such a young team, and the sailors had a great time in addition to sailing fast!
