The Fighting Irish Synchronized Skating team tied for second place this weekend at their first competition of the season, the Dr. Richard Porter Synchronized Classic held in Ann Arbor, MI. The team competed against 9 other college teams with Lindenwood University placing first and University of Minnesota Duluth also coming in second place, tying with the Notre Dame team. The Fighting Irish displayed their new program for the first time this weekend, a fun compilation of songs by The Temptations. They had two falls in the opening warm-up block before their program began, however once the music started they were able to shake off the nerves and skate clean with lots of energy. The team will continue working very hard to prepare for their next competition, the Mid-America Synchronized Skating Championships in Fraser, MI on Jan. 11.
