The Rockne Memorial is the prominent semi-Gothic building that stands on the west side of campus on South Quad, covering nearly an acre of ground and providing many opportunities for recreational enjoyment. Even with the inception of the Smith Center for Recreational Sports in 2018, Rockne is still a bustling stage for many forms of club sports, intramurals, fitness classes, aquatic instruction, and general recreation, as well as life-saving classes for RecSports staff.
Update to Rockne Memorial Pool Hours
Please be advised that from the start of the fall semester through mid-October, the Rockne Memorial pools will operate on a slightly modified schedule.
Modified Pool Hours (Starting Wednesday, August 26)

Monday – Friday: Open Swim available 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Saturday & Sunday: Open Swim available Noon – 7:00 PM
These modifications allow us to share our facilities, directly supporting our student-athletes as they prepare for their upcoming competitive seasons. In tandem, these temporary schedule adjustments support essential repairs and maintenance currently underway at the Rolfs Aquatic Center—upgrades that will ultimately enhance the facility for our student-athletes and the entire Notre Dame community.
