RecSports to offer sneak peek into Smith Center for Recreational Sports, January 8 - 12

The Smith Center for Recreational Sports inside the Duncan Student Center will open on Monday, January 8. Scheduled recreation and fitness opportunities will occur for Notre Dame students, faculty, and staff. This limited schedule will be available to enable RecSports to test equipment, configure Group Fitness Classes, and give a sneak peek into our facility to those who are on campus prior to the start of the Spring semester.

About attending the Group Fitness Classes

Try out Group Fitness Classes in our new Smith Center for Recreational Sports for FREE from January 8 – 12! No registration required. Spots are limited and are on a first come, first served basis. Classes are open to the Notre Dame community.

About the Equipment Demos

All of the equipment in the Smith Center is NEW! With over 200+ pieces of cardio and weight equipment, these demos will provide you the opportunity to get familiar with the new pieces in preparation for the Spring semester. Demos will enable you to try the equipment and learn about the mechanics, technology, and more! Due to the amount of equipment available for each of the demos and the anticipation of high traffic, please understand that time on each of the pieces may be limited dependent on availability.

About utilizing the Track

Looking to jump into your New Year resolutions with a walk or run? Our new 1/6 mile track on the 4th level of the Duncan Student Center will be available for use January 8 – 12 from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

About utilizing the Basketball Courts

In addition to the courts available at the new North Dome facility, RecSports will have courts on the 3rd level of the Duncan Student Center available for use January 8 – 12 from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Please note: The Smith Center for Recreational Sports will not be fully operational until Monday, January 15. One may only attend a demo, attend a Group Fitness Class, or walk/run the track, or play basketball during the times noted below. The facility is not open for use outside of this. Additionally, there will be no towel service inside the facility until Monday, January 15.
